Hope Springs Eternal

I love to write about web generators. I think that they make a particular rhetorical appeal of the "automagical" to users of computational media who are unwilling to write code or negotiate complicated interfaces, and yet would like the online interactivity of such sites and the opportunity to create personalized digital ephemera of their own.

Obamicon Me is one of the more interesting ones from recent memory, since it replicates Shepard Fairey's distinct aesthetic that made Obama into an icon on Fairey's "Hope" posters.
