Reading Between the Lines

Although its front page content maintains a position of studied and staid neutrality, there's a lot of insight about state rhetoric to be found at Governing.com. This website is the electronic publisher of sourcebooks for state and local government, and also provides management advice from the Kennedy School of Government. But there's also some surprisingly incisive analysis of the fine print of government reports, which includes hot-button topics like abortion. Thanks to Virtualpolitik reader Mark Stencel, who also works for one of my favorite sources of fine print, Congressional Quarterly, for making me aware of the site. Stencel also co-authored Peepshow: Media and Politics in an Age of Scandal.
