Twitter Tale

"Second Life Mash-Up Shows Tweets about the Candidates" on Game Politics describes one representation of political microblogging that is staged in the 3-D environment of a virtual world. Unfortunately, the animated text doesn't show on this snapshot, but the glowing text from sources such as instapundit provides a kind of public art display that would also work in the real world. It's worth noting that Capitol Hill 2 in Second Life is actually one of the political areas that is not empty when an event is not taking place and that people with handles like "political junkie" seem to seek out this environment for milling about or exploration. Unfortunately, areas that represent political parties or pro/con deliberation about political bills are often still structured around relatively flat media such as notecards or poster displays.
